Tyche Institute joins the Agentic AI Foundation as an Associate Member
Tyche Institute is an Associate Member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF). The membership agreement was executed on 4 September 2026 and the membership takes effect from 1 September 2026. A single agreement covers both Linux Foundation Associate Membership and AAIF Associate Membership; Associate is the Foundation's no-cost tier for non-profit, academic, and government organisations.
AAIF is a directed fund of the Linux Foundation rather than a separate legal entity. It hosts the projects that are becoming the connective tissue of agent deployments: the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent2Agent (A2A), goose, AGENTS.md, and agentgateway. That is the layer at which the questions Tyche works on become concrete — which action an agent was actually authorised to take, what evidence of that action survives the run, and whether a third party can check it later without trusting the operator.
Tyche's stated interest on joining is in the identity-and-trust and observability-and-traceability lines of work, and in the bridge to European regulation: conformity assessment under the AI Act, eIDAS 2.0 and the European Digital Identity Wallet, trusted lists, and public procurement. Working-group participation is not claimed here; it will be recorded when it begins.
What the membership is not: Associate Membership carries no vote, no Governing Board seat, and no committee seat. It is not a certification, a grant, a partnership, or an endorsement by the Linux Foundation or the Agentic AI Foundation of Tyche Institute's publications, tools, or specifications. Tyche remains an independent non-profit research association and takes no vendor position.
